The European Deafblind Union (EDbU) and the Hungarian Deafblind Association (HDbA) are pleased to invite you to the 6th EDbU Annual General Assembly (AGA) as well as the 3rd Deafblind Women’s Forum and the 2nd Deafblind Youth Forum on June 4th – 6th, 2019 at Danubius Hotel Flamenco, Budapest, Hungary.
The Hungarian Deafblind Association also invites the participants for celebration of the 25th Anniversary of its establishment on June 6th, 2019.

The organizers reserve the right of making changes in the program.

Arrival is on Monday, June 3rd or Tuesday morning, June 4th, 2019 according to your best flight option.
Only lunches on June 5th and 6th, 2019 will be included in the program and in the participation fees. Other lunches and dinners will be not not provided, the participants can choose where and what to eat and they have to pay for themselves.

The Hotel Flamenco is located in the Buda side close to the centre of Budapest yet surrounded by beautiful parkland with the so-colled Bottomless Lake.

There are two types of rooms in the hotel for reservation:

Economy room for 1 person: €75/night/room

Economy room for 2 persons: €85/night/room

Standard room for 1 person: €85/night/room

Standard room for 2 persons: €95/night/room

Standard room for 3 persons: €110/night/room (in limited number)

The prices will include breakfast and taxes, as well as free WiFi throughout the whole hotel.
The prices are also valid for 3 nights before and after the event, if you want to stay more days in Budapest.
Airport transfer iwill not be available and not be organized. It is recommended to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. The hotel is also well accesible by public transport.

All participants have to make reservation for their rooms for themselves.

Each participant including deafblind participants, interpreters, assistants, family members etc. has to complete the registration form online.

Participation fees

The participation fees are determined for each day:

Tuesday, June 4th, 2019 – €30 per person, coffee break included

Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 – €60 per person, lunch and coffee break included

Thursday, June 6th, 2019 – €50 per person, lunch and coffee break included

Altogether €140 per person for the three days.

Payment of participation fees

The participation fees should be paid for each participants including deafblind participants, interpreters, assistants, family members etc.
Please make payment by bank transfer to the Hungarian Deafblind Association’s account:

Make sure to give the mention ‘EDbU2019’ and participant name(s) in the bank transfer details.
The payment must be “free of any charges for the payee”, i.e. all bank charges have to be borne by the sender. Please quote the IBAN number and SWIFT Address in your instructions for Bank Transfer.
Your registration is valid when the participation fee is fully paid.
After payment of the full participation fee, each participant will receive confirmation of his/her registration and the receipt by e-mail.


The deadline for registration and payment is March 31st, 2019. It is recommended to make room reservation with registration at the same time to avoid any confusion.


Note that the cancellations of hotel room and participation must be handled separately.
Cancellation of hotel room must be made to the hotel according to the terms of cancellation specified in the link for room reservation above.
Cancellation of participation must be done in a signed letter, scanned and sent to Tamás Gangl, gangltamas@gmail.com.
Refunds of the participation fees will be made under the following conditions:
– Cancellation before April 15th, 2019: refund of participation fee minus 10% handling fee
– Cancellation between April 16th – May 15th, 2019: 50 % refund of participation fee
– Cancellation after May 15th, 2019: no refund
All refunds will be handled after the event.
Change of name of participant will be permitted until May 15th, 2019 by sending an email to Tamás Gangl, in this case it will not be considered as cancellation.
